Busta Rhymes – “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See (D.E.D. Remix)”
Hip-Hop producer Syze-Up and I worked together on numerous remixes during the late nineties including tracks by L’il Kim (feat. Notorious B.I.G.), Missy Elliott, Rakim, Mase and Busta Rhymes under the name Desert Eagle Discs. We also did some more mainstream remixes for Simply Red, Jeff Beck and Jamiroquai. We worked long and hard on the tracks at Syze’s studio, Bangtank, before taking the tracks off to one of the Matrix studios for the mix. Bangtank even briefly became my home during a house move! We employed a DIY approach to the tracks and I sometimes found myself doing bits of backing vocals, guitar and keyboards where necessary. I also remember struggling with early incarnations of Logic (pre-Apple), especially in the mix room as we attempted to make the rig lock up with tape. Oh what fun!
